New Signs Along Bayfront Highway

Right now if you ride along the Bayfront, you'll see about a dozen signs from local organizations.
Right now if you ride along the Bayfront, you'll see about a dozen signs from local organizations. Many have been wondering why they're there. We caught up the Erie Community Foundation, the group behind this project, to find out why those signs are there.

Mike Batchelor of Erie Community Foundation comments, "We call them sponsor gardens, it’s the folks that are involved, it's the folks that put up the money. Sponsors put up either 25 or 50 thousand. We raised almost a million dollars to do this, and they need some recognition so that's what that's all about".

That's just the beginning; a walkway will be built to help out with events like 8 Great Tuesdays, as well as a winding pathway to increase public access. Foundation officials tell us they expect the project to be done in a few years.
