Trial Postponed in Summit Township Mobile Home Shooting

JANUARY 8, 2014- A Summit Township woman accused of fatally shooting her boyfriend to death in their mobile home wants her murder charge changed to manslaughter..28-year-old Kristina Allen is charged with criminal homicide, recklessly endangering and possessing instruments of crime.Police say Allen killed her boyfriend Dean Haggerty with a single gun shot wound to the chest in their mobile home on Squirrel Drive.Today in court, her attorney's argued that she should be charged with manslaughter.The District Attorneys office believes that Allen acted with malice which would fall into the homicide charge.Allen is currently behind bars being held without bond.A judge is expected to rule at a later date.Allen's trial date was slated for late January, but it has now been moved to April 21st.
