One Dead and Three Injured After Shooting At East Erie Turners

Police were called to the scene of the shooting just before 1 AM Sunday morning.

JANUARY 5-- Just before 1 AM Sunday morning Erie police were called to the scene of a shooting at East Erie Turners. Police report there was a private party going on inside the club where the shooting happened. Following the shooting, a 26 year old man was pronounced dead at UPMC Hamot. A 20 year old man, 18 year old woman and 19 year old woman were also taken to the hospital after being shot. All victims suffered from gunshots to the legs, one woman was shot a second time in the wrist. Their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. The victims were rushed to the hospital, where dozens of family and friends followed to the parking lot. State police were called to help control the crowds. This is the first alleged homicide of the New Year. Area residents say this has happened right in their neighborhood before. The community is now coming together to stress the value of stopping violence in our area.

Police were called to the scene of shots fired shortly after this fatal shooting. Around 3 AM this morning Police responded to shots fired at 2307 Holland Street. Police say this shooting could be related to the earlier incident.
