Otters Rally in Third to Spoil Whalers Home Opener

The Erie Otters battle back from a one-goal deficit to stun the Plymouth Whalers home opener for their first win of the season by the score of 2-1.
Plymouth, Mi. – The Erie Otters battle back from a one-goal deficit to
stun the Plymouth Whalers home opener for their first win of the season
by the score of 2-1.

The Otters fired 37 pucks at Whalers net minder Alex Nedeljkovic
throughout the game, and couldn’t find the back of the net until the
third period.

Plymouth opened the scoring when Connor Chatham beat Oscar Dansk on the
power play at 14:00 of the first period.

The Otters would fire things up in the third period, unleashing 20 shots
in the frame. Nedeljkovic stood tall to hold the lead into the third
period.

Dane Fox finally solved Nedeljkovic when he deflected a puck to himself
behind the defense and was able to tuck the puck behind the Plymouth
goaltender. The Otters power play would get the go ahead goal when Connor
McDavid found captain Connor Brown on the back door to one-time home the
game winner.

Oscar Dansk stopped 29 of the 30 shots he faced as he collected his first
win on the season.

The Otters will continue their five game opening season road trip by
travelling to Saginaw Wednesday night to face the Spirit at 7:11 p.m.
