Poker Run Supports Overseas Troops

Thousands of troops overseas will be getting care packages from Erie thanks to some bikers with big hearts.
August 11, 2013 - Thousands of troops overseas will be getting care packages from Erie thanks to some bikers with big hearts.

The first annual poker run at the Pittsburgh Inn on West Lake Rd brought out bikers from all over the region.

The proceeds will be used to send supplies and gifts to men and women serving overseas.

The owner of the Pittsburgh Inn, Robin Weunski, is a strong believer in taking care of those who serve our country, and she's getting some help from her customers and friends.

"I've been sending packages for 11 years and everyday somebody comes in with something for me to send to troupes and the postage is the hardest part," said Weunski.

The Pittsburgh Inn has a wall of pictures representing the people she has sent care packages to over the years.

Some of the family members of those troops took part in the poker run.
