One young cancer survivor and his dad are hosting a radio-thon to give back to the hospital that he says saved him.
This is the first year for the radio-thon on Bob FM.
It's their way of paying it forward.
From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Evan Lang and his dad, Joe, are hosting the radio-thon to raise money for Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Free Care Fund.
The Free Care Fund helps families regardless of insurance or their ability to pay.
A few years ago, Evan was diagnosed with cancer after visiting the hospital.
Now, he is two years cancer free and his family is giving back to the hospital that helped them so much through the tough time.
His dad tells us every parent wants the best care possible for their kids no matter what it takes.
So, the Langs want to help other families like theirs.
Evan tells us it was hard, but the doctors and nurses were very nice.
His dad tells us the hospital staff became part of their family.
Evan was up bright and early with a big smile to go on the radio alongside his dad.
