In "AA," Warren senior Shane Burns knocked out Fairview freshman Ben Westcott in straight sets (6-3, 6-0) to reach the state tournament on May 24-25.
It was a battle of Ramblers in "AAA" as Cathedral Prep seniors Nicholas Ward and Michael Prenovitz faced off for a ticket to Hershey later this month. Ward prevailed over his teammate in two sets with 7-5 and 7-6 victories.
Mercyhurst Prep kept its undefeated season alive with a big sixth while Harbor Creek paid a visit to Ft. LeBoeuf for a battle with the Bison. In other local baseball action, General McLane beat Corry 7-6.
The Explosion got its 11th win on Sunday afternoon, this one putting them in the CIFL Title Game. Erie crushed Kentucky 55-6 and will play two-time defending champion Saginaw next weekend for the championship.
The Lakers topped Lake Erie in the ECAC final as MU's Jake McAndrew was named tournament MVP. The two teams will meet again next weekend in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

In Erie, it was a pair of softball showdowns capturing the attention at local ballparks. In Binghamton, the SeaWolves got a solid outting from Warwick Saupold but the bullpen struggled to back him up.
The Erie Explosion finished the season a perfect 10-0 on Sunday with a 95-point victory over the Flint Fury. Erie will host Kentucky in the first round of the CIFL Playoffs.
