ERIE, Pa. — The political spotlight will again be on Erie as Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine comes to town on Tuesday.
The races for Pennsylvania and the White House are heating up as Kaine will campaign for Hillary Clinton on the Sunset Terrace of the Bayfront Convention Center at 1 p.m. Doors open at 11 a.m. for the event.
The event will be standing-room only and will hold around 400 people.
Convention center officials are urging the public to pack lightly as security will be tight, it will be similar to going through an airport with Secret Service.
Local democrats are expecting the junior U.S. Senator from Virginia to address education, improvements to infrastructure, jobs for the middle class and health care while in Erie.
U.S. Senator candidate Katie McGinty will introduce Kaine at Tuesday’s rally.
Both the Courtyard Marriott and Sheraton Bayfront Hotel parking garages will be open in addition to the Bayfront Convention Center lot.
