Erie Police have a suspect in custody following a shooting at a local Pizza Hut earlier today.

Two people were shot shortly after 2 o’ clock this afternoon at the Pizza Hut restaurant located on East 38th Street and Zimmerman Road. Eyewitnesses told Jet 24 Action News that a man wearing a black hooded sweat shirt walked in the restaurant and shot two people, one of them in the shoulder. Both victims were transported to the hospital.

The person who was reportedly shot in the shoulder ran to a Vehicle sitting at the light on Zimmerman and told the occupant about the shooting. The victim then ran to the Dollar General on the other side of East 38th Street and someone there notified police.

The suspect then fled the scene in a White Nissan Altima. Pennsylvania State Police spotted the suspect’s car several hours later headed west along I-90. State Police pulled the suspect over and he was taken into custody without incident. He was brought to Erie City Police headquarters for booking. He is expect to be arraigned sometime tomorrow.

Police have not yet released the names of any of the people involved in the incident.
