Aufitor General says Audit raises concerns about DMVA veterans homes

The Pennsylvania Auditor General released a report focused on the states six veterans homes.  This included the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Erie.
According to Auditor General, Eugene Depasquale,  the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs needs to fix problems with admissions and it’s waiting lists at the commonwealth’s six veterans homes.  This flaw he said, “is delaying care to Pennsylvania veterans”.
The audit exposed 14 veterans were in the wrong order on waiting lists, “11 of those veterans should have been higher up on the list to receive care” said the Auditor General.  Also discovered in the audit, deficiencies in how staff at veteran homes had complaints about resident care and living situations.
The DMVA is apparently already working to fix the problems.
