If you drive past the intersection of West 12th and Asbury Road, you’ll see stone balancing at its finest..
Patrick Catalde is the artist behind the creations, he’s been doing it for about a year. There is no adhesive used to hold the rocks together. Each one is balanced against the other. the arch that was built this day included several rocks, some weighing several pounds. No support to hold the arch in place, they’re all just perfectly placed to hold together.
Catalde says when he’s creating his stone art he gets in a zone and tunes out everything around him. Some of his pieces take up to 8 hours to complete but in the end he says it’s all worth it.
