A head-on collision sent one woman to the hospital and had traffic backed up along busy Route 6N on Friday.
The accident was reported just after 9:15 a.m. Friday in the 9200 block of Route 6N, just outside of Union City.
A woman driving a Toyota RAV was heading east on Route 6N when she missed a curve in the road and side-swiped a Penelec truck.
She continued on about 150 feet before slamming into another westbound car.
That driver said there was nothing she could do but to hang on.
“I (saw) the lady in the red car come down and miss the curve and hit the Penelec car and she just skidded right into me,” said Diana Smith, the driver of the car that was struck.
Smith, along with two passengers in her car and the driver of the Penelec truck were not injured.
The driver of the RAV was taken to the hospital for treatment with unknown inujuries.
