117 traffic stops during ‘Click it or Ticket’ campaign

Local News

The recent ‘Click it or Ticket’ campaign comes back with some encouraging results in the city of Erie.  After the week-long initiative, Erie Police conducted 117 traffic stops and issued 79 citations, but only three citations for seatbelt violations.

Police also issued three warnings and made two felony arrests.  The officers target Erie’s main traffic areas during the campaign.  The ‘Buckle Up, Pennsylvania, Click it or Ticket’ program offers grants to police departments statewide to step up enforcement by encouraging and reminding drivers about the importance of wearing a seatbelt.
