It’s a friendly contest between downtown businesses in an effort to improve wellbeing.
The kickoff for the 12th Annual Downtown Erie Walks was held at Gannon University’s Recreational Center. It gives a chance to get the downtown employees active.
Those participating have a goal to walk 30 minutes per day.
Besides walking, employees can jog, swim, or do aerobics.
Gary Lee, Director of Administration for the County of Erie, says, “it’s an initiative that we like to encourage our employees to partake in and participate for health reasons and to have fun while they are doing it.”
The walk is not just for the city of Erie, but also for Millcreek and North East employees.
