Governor Tom Wolf says the state has some extra road work to do after a tough winter and he’s even willing to pitch in to get things started.
The governor, along with PennDOT Secretary Leslie Richards, are filling in the first pothole under the Resurface PA initiative. That program is providing more than $150 million for increased or accelerated pothole repairs and resurfacing. More than $22 million will be spent in June, alone.
Wolf says, “…the goal is to get between now and the end of the summer the highways to the point where we actually can be proud of our system again”.
PennDOT says the money is coming from savings the state received from contracts already budgeted.
