177 degrees handed out at Gannon commencement over the weekend

Hundreds of students at Gannon University celebrated a milestone.  

The winter commencement ceremony awarded 177 degrees Sunday.  This year’s Keynote Speaker was Mayor Joe Schember.  

We spoke with Christina Zappa, who received her Masters Degree in Business Administration, who says, “I’ll be a little bit sad and a little bit bitter sweet to be leaving a lot of my colleagues and friends here at Gannon. “

Bishop Lawrence Persico from the Diocese of Erie also attended the event.

Meanwhile, the students at Gannon who did not walk across the stage were treated to a special breakfast.  Faculty and staff serving up the most important meal of the day to students as they prepare for finals. 

It’s a way for the students to unwind as they gear up for a week of exams, projects, and papers.
