1956 Allegheny grad donates $7 million to college

Allegheny College has received a major financial boost.

A 1956 graduate of Allegheny College gave the school financial gifts totaling $7 million.

Patricia Bush Tippie, along with her husband, have donated a series of gifts as part of the school’s $200 million Third Century Quest campaign.

Some of the funds will be used to benefit those who teach and study in the fields of art and economics.

Tippie, who grew up in New Castle, now lives in Austin, Texas.
