The Little Italy community is coming together to celebrate with Bethesda Lutheran Services.
Bethesda’s Trinity Center held its 20th Annual ‘Celebration of Summer’ today. Families heard music performed by students and enjoyed food, games, and face-painting. The event caps off the six-week summer program that serves around 75 youths.
12-year-old Germiah Smith says, “I like the program because it’s fun. We, like, go on a lot of field trips. We sometimes do educational stuff.”
CEO of Bethesda Lutheran Services, George Trauner, says, “They have the opportunity to learn different things and you can tell hearing them they’ve learned many different songs.”
The summer program gives kids ages 5-12 exposure to recreation and education, including the music program, for free.
