As summer winds down, it’s time again for the German Heritage Fest at St. Nick’s grove.
This is the 21st Annual German Fest in Erie. Thousands turn out for this event for the festive dancing, food and of course German beer.
For some, it’s a chance to dust off the liederhosen. Many people in the area have made visiting the German Fest a family tradition that spans generations..
“People just enjoy it. We have people who come back year after year. They plan their family reunions around it. I’ve seen kids grow up here,” said Melissa Lesniewski, co-coordinator of the German Heritage Festival.
