If you’ve received these calls, you’re not alone. We’re talking about those automated calls we sometimes get from schemers. A study conducted by the group ‘Truecaller’ found more than 22 million Americans lost nearly $10 billion in robocall schemes in 2016.
Police say these criminals are even matching your location with the area code so that you’re more likely to pick up. Although most calls are random, elderly folks are often the easiest targets. Authorities warn if you get a call from a number you don’t know; don’t answer the phone.
