Erie Downtown Development Corporation announces that PNC Bank donated $250,000 today to the EDDC Operating Fund to support the downtown revitalization efforts.

After combining this money with the $400,000 committed last year, PNC’s total donation is at $650,000. That’s the largest contribution to date.

“The EDDC is so grateful to PNC Bank for their tremendous support. These contributions will have a huge impact on creating a downtown that all in our community can be proud of,” said EDDC CEO John Persinger.

The money from PNC will go to projects to improve downtown’s appearance, safety, and welcoming nature. Other priorities include family friendly events, activities, and place-making initiatives.

“The EDDC’s goal is to improve the quality of life in downtown Erie, while also bringing more residents and businesses to the city center,” said James Stevenson, PNC regional president of Erie. “With this additional gift, PNC hopes to help the EDDC create a stronger urban core.”

The EDDC CEO says they are working to breathe new life into the downtown area.
