A $3.5 million Presque Isle State Park Project is on track to be completed by next summer. Park Operations Manager Matt Greene updating the public on the large project, completely rehabilitating Beach Eight.
This project will add 150 parking spots, put in two new restroom buildings and a new lakefront path that will eventually stretch from Beach Eight to Beach Six.
Park Operations Manager, Matt Greene, tells us, “We haven’t really done any updates to any of the beach concession stands, changing facilities for a really long [time]. Really, the 80’s were the last time we’ve done anything there. Still operating off of the old 50’s master plan for how the park is set up. This really is going to usher in a new set of amenities that we have at our beaches here at Presque Isle.”
Green says the project is on schedule to be completed by Memorial Day Weekend to kick off the summer season next year.
