“We have rides so many different rides going all over the place in Erie” said Laurie Thompson Harley Davidson general manager “so that the people in Erie can be proud of what we have and the people that are coming into Erie from out of town can leave happy and see everything we have to offer.”
Having thousands of people come in town for the event is much more than just fun it is a boost to our economy.
” You look at all the things that are being affected” said Vince Rizzone ABATE of Erie County member “the hotels and restaurants and bars and shopping centers it’s a big boost”
With thousands of bikers hitting the road in the City of Erie, bikers are stressing the importance of all drivers staying aware to prevent a tragedy from happening during this much anticipated event.
“The bikes have to keep their speed down” said Rizzone”if you want to do tricks and stuff like wheelies go find a parking lot somewhere that is empty mess around there it is not to be on the street because you are giving everybody a bad name just by doing that and if you are going too fast and you think people are going to see you there not.”
Rizzone also advising locals to be ready for heavy traffic throughout the area.
“Just really be safe and be vigilant of all the extra traffic”said Rizzone “that is going to be in this area there is going to be hundreds if not thousands of bikes everywhere and they are going to be running from downtown to the west Erie plaza to the Harley shop.”
