Anime fans call Erie home this weekend.
A few hundred people come out for the Fifth annual BlurrieCon at the Bayfront Convention Center. Visitors dress up as their favorite comic book and anime characters. Vendors sell memorabilia and authentic artwork.
Organizers say there is a huge market for this crowd in Northwest Pennsylvania.
“There’s a huge fandom in Erie and it’s sort of recently just been waking up and sort of coming to life,” said Gerard Pawlowski, BlurrieCon Chair.
The chairman says the blurriecon inspires similar events in the erie area — like the region’s first ever comicon.
