900,000 gallons of sewage enters Lake Erie following heavy rains in Dunkirk, New York

More than 900,000 gallons of sewage was dumped into the waters of Lake Erie over the weekend.

The dumping happening in Dunkirk, New York, just before 7am Sunday.  Officials say the amount of rainfall over the weekend played a role in the sewage leaking into the lake.

They also say the discharge was partially treated with disinfection.
