A man and woman involved in a car jacking incident are now in Erie police custody

A man and woman involved in car jacking are now in Erie Police custody. It happened Sunday at about 7:30 am in the 1200 block of West 6th Street. According to Erie Police, A person was getting into their vehicle when a female came up and said she needed a ride to escape an abusive situation.

The victim gave the woman a ride. They were traveling down the street when the woman spotted a man who she said was her brother and asked the victim to pick him up. The man got into the back of the vehicle and attempted to take the vehicle as he and the victim struggled. 

The man and woman were unable to take the vehicle and got out of it near Strong Vincent Middle School and ran off. EPD spotted them an hour after the incident in the 800 block of Weschler Avenue and took them into custody.
