Advocates for the Erie County Community College were in Harrisburg this afternoon as the group attended the State Board of Education.
The purpose was to show their support for the establishment of a community college here in Erie. Among those making the trip were Gary Horton, Marcus Atkinson and Bishop Dwane Brock.
Empower Erie, The Northern Pennsylvania Regional College and Senator Joe Scarnati were all approved as interveners at the upcoming evidentiary hearing. Businessman Brent Davis and Gannon University professor Charles Bennett were denied intervening status by the Board of Education
The Pennsylvania Board of Education will hold an evidentiary hearing on Erie County’s community college application on March 18th
