The Pennsylvania Senate did not bring a statute of limitations reform bill up for a vote at the last session, but survivors of clergy sexual abuse say the fight is not over.
Abuse victims are urging the PA Senate to revisit the statute of limitations reform at the next session. Advocates holding a news conference at the Erie County Courthouse, calling lawmakers to take action.
Survivors say that everyone deserves their day in court and legislation needs to be passed in order for that to happen. They also say the reform bill would send a message that the institutional cover-up of abuse will no longer be tolerated.
