Sometime this week, a former Crawford County commissioner will learn if his name will appear on the spring primary ballot. Sherman Allen is running for re-election.

He was a two-term commissioner until he was defeated in 2015. Some of the signatures on his current nominating petition were questioned in court this week.

Judge John Spataro will decide before Wednesday whether Allen has enough valid signatures left on his petition to qualify to appear on the May primary ballot.

Allen is running as a Democrat, where there are currently four candidates vying for seats.
