Ainsworth Pet Nutrition to be sold in $1.9 Billion Dollar Deal

A longtime fixture in the Crawford County business community is being sold.

J.M. Smucker Company from Ohio announcing a deal to purchase Ainsworth Pet Nutrition headquartered in Meadville. The price is $1.9 billion dollars. According to a news release, Smucker expects the more than 700 Ainsworth employees will join their company.  Ainsworth is currently best known for it’s Racheal Ray “Nutrish” brand of pet foods. The deal is expected to close early in the fiscal year beginning May 1st.
