A man accused of felony aggravated assault pleaded guilty to the charges today in court.

Nassir Al-Zamly is charged with hitting Roger Pickens in the head with a large meat cleaver following an argument in the 400 block of East 11th Street in March.  The argument reportedly started between Al-Zamly and Pickens’ girlfriend.  The girlfriend called Pickens to the residence, where he also fought with Al-Zamly before Al-Zamly struck him over the head.  Pickens was taken to UPMC Hamot, treated for cuts and released.

Al-Zamly will be sentenced at a later date.
