The Allegheny Health Network and Saint Vincent Hospital officially cut the ribbon on a brand new Health + Wellness Pavilion Wednesday, the first facility of its kind in the Erie region.
The 44,000 square foot facility at 4247 West Ridge Road in Millcreek Township came in under budget and nearly a month early, said CEO of Saint Vincent Hospital, Scott Whalen.
“The budget cost came in somewhere near half a million under budget and the beauty is that we accelerated this almost a full month,” said Whalen. “The idea here is that we actually have almost one-stop shopping for a variety of clinical needs and that is unique and we think that that is important for the community. Those kinds of illnesses and injuries that don’t need an emergency room but need immediate care, the urgent care is here for you.”
In addition to the urgent care, the new Health + Wellness Pavilion offers an ACL laboratory, a rehabilitation facility, family practices, Saint Vincent primary care, sports medicine and diagnostic imaging services.
Whalen said the new building is the western-most urgent care facility in Erie County, and is an “aggregation, a synergy of medical care” for west county residents.
One sports medicine doctor said being able to provide comprehensive, consolidated care will make the patient experience more enjoyable.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to have sports medicine, rehab imaging, urgent care all under one roof – it’s going to be very convenient for our patients,” said Dr. Jeffrey Kim. “We are able to do our diagnostic testing in a much more efficient manner. Having it all under one roof is not only going to be convenient for access but also help them get better faster, we hope.”
The Pavilion will open to patients in waves, beginning Monday May 16 with the Imaging Center, Urgent Care and Pediatrics services.
Then, on Monday May 23, Primary Care, Sports Medicine, Rehab Solutions and ACL Labs will begin serving patients.
