Amish buggy registration?

Local News

Horse drawn buggies and wagons don’t have license plates in Pennsylvania, but that may change soon.

Pennsylvania law does not require the amish to purchase or display license plates.  A house bill introduced last month suggests for that to change.  If passed, the new law would require any horse-drawn vehicle that travels public roadways in Pennsylvania to display a plate.

It would cost $36 to register.

The funds collected would be used to improve the roadways from the wear and tear from the steel wheels used on these horse-drawn buggies.
