Amphitheater bids too high

Local News

It’s back to the drawing board for the Liberty Park Amphitheater.

Members of the port authority board were surprised when bids for a new amphitheater building came in at least $150-thousand over estimates.

The board wants to build a more permanent structure after weather damaged the old roof.

Now engineers are meeting with contractors to find out why the costs are so high.

The first scheduled event at the amphitheater is Eight Great Tuesdays July 5.
