Yet another EMTA charter proposal is on the table, but this one quite different than the rest.
County councilman Jay Breneman is proposing that the county fund 100 percent of the local match of EMTA while giving another $1 million dollars to the city for capital improvements.
His 20-year charter proposal gives the city four seats on the board and the county seven.
Breneman says the million dollars for the city would come from excess funds from the airport runway extension. He feels that money could help save Erie School District money for transportation and in the end save them from raising taxes on the city.
Many city and county councilmen say they have yet to see this latest proposal.
