Tax preparers say there’s still confusion among taxpayers over the changes implemented by President Donald Trump. That comes with a little less than a month left to file for the April 15th deadline.
You can apply to delay filing your tax paperwork, but any money owed must still be paid by the deadline.
The biggest shock usually comes when refunds are less than expected because the new tax laws take out less per paycheck.
Jason Williams of Liberty Tax Service says, “Last year, they started to take less tax out of our paycheck to give us more during the year, well that also affects your tax refund it can make your refund obviously lower because you got more money throughout the year.”
The IRS is expecting to process 150 million returns this year.
