On Saturday, May 27, the first annual “Art With A Heart” art show will be held in celebration of National Foster Care Month.

All artwork in the show was created by children in foster care placement and adoptees up to age 21 from northwestern Pennsylvania. Each piece of artwork depicts the artist’s definition of family.

Artwork will be grouped by age of the artist. All visitors are invited to vote for their favorite piece of artwork in each age group.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to speak with representatives from local adoption and foster care agencies to learn more about how to become a foster parent. There will also be give-aways and a craft for children to complete while parents view the beautiful artwork.

The event is from 11am to 3pm and will be held at the Millcreek Mall in the Macy’s concourse.

This art exhibit is made possible thanks to a grant from the Pennsylvania Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN). Local partners include Family Services of NWPA, The Bair Foundation, Catholic Charities Counseling and Adoption Services of Erie, Families United Network, Harborcreek Youth Services, and the NW PA Foster Parent’s Association.
