Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro is headed to court Monday, continuing to press for the release of grand jury testimony into sexual assaults in seven Pennsylvania dioceses, including Erie.
Shapiro says he disagrees with the recent court ruling that prevented the release of those transcripts. The courts agreed to review the testimony on the grounds that the reputations of innocent people who haven’t been charged could be tarnished.
Shapiro is arguing that the stories of victims deserve to be told.
The court ruling that delayed the release does allow the Attorney General to seek a speedy review of the testimony.
