Thousands gathered at Presque Isle State Park for the 16th annual walk for Autism.
Jet 24’s own Traci Teudhope and Dan Zbozien kicked off the event and 11 this morning.
More than 130 volunteers have been planning the walk all year.
We’re told the 50 teams raised close to 100,000 dollars.
Coordinators said 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit people with autism locally.
Coordinators told us it’s important people understand that autism is not just a childhood disease.
They stressed that adults also need support and programming to reach their full potential.
