ERIE, Pa. — As the population ages, members of the community are working to ensure that seniors can find the resources that they need.
The Independent Council on Aging hosted its Member Fest and Member Drive Wednesday.
The coalition consists of individuals and agencies that provide service to Erie County seniors. The group said together they put on events and seminars for seniors.
“Our goal is to reach as many people as we can to actually have them become a part of our program. So, we can help support the elderly in our community,” said Michele Cooney, chair of the organization’s membership drive.
Last year, the organization had nearly 100 members, but leaders want it to grow.
