Bear Lake woman charged with embezzling sentenced in federal court

The woman who plead guilty for embezzling more than 741 thousand dollars is sentenced in federal court today. 

The judge sentenced Karen Schenck, 50, to spend two years behind bars in a federal prison.

Then she’ll spend five years on supervised probation.

Schenck pled guilty last year to taking more than $741,000 over a five and a half year period from the Corry Area School Credit Union when she was the manager.

This was discovered in August of 2015. 

Schenck was also order to pay back all restitution costs.
