Nearly 20 local artists were at Penn State Behrend to sell and showcase their art.
Artsapalooza is an all-day event part of Olivia Coghe’s Senior Capstone for the school’s art department. Coghe’s idea was to bring several local, Erie artists to one location and bring awareness to the Erie Art Community.
“I’m an artist myself and I want to give a space for artists to showcase what they can do… I’ve always been a huge proponent for supporting local arts and local artists…”
The Pittsburgh Native says she tried to mirror the Three Rivers Art Festival, except with an Erie and Behrend twist. And, the public was welcome to stop by, shop the vendors, and enjoy special performances.
The event proved to be a hit and Olivia left us with these words for those who assisted in helping this dream come true: “Thank you for everyone that participated and helped me throughout the journey. It’s been a long time coming and I appreciate everyone’s help.”
