It was an emotional gathering at the benefit held for Nyon Warren, the six-year-old who died in a hit and run accident about a week ago.

“Nyon was just a happy and outgoing little baby,” said Roshay Benjamin, Nyon’s cousin.

Benjamin is one of the many people who showed up to the benefit. His family telling us they have had an outpour of support from the community. “In his little six years, he impacted a lot of lives obviously for everybody to show up and be here and just be here for support, we greatly appreciate it,” Benjamin added.

Not only did family show up to Nyon’s benefit, but even his principal came to show his support for the family. “I always say when I’m having a rough day, I go down to the kindergarten classes because they’re the kids that make you smile and Nyon was always somebody who made you smile,” said Tim Sabol, principal, Diehl Elementary School

Meanwhile, Police are still searching for the suspected driver of a silver van that hit Nyon. They are working with this blurry image of the van.

His family asking anyone with information to come foward. “He didn’t ask for what happen, he wasn’t suppose to leave, he was not suppose to be gone,” said Benjamin. “He was suppose to be around for a lot longer than what he was. I’m just begging you to come out and tell us what’s going on and tell us if you know anything.”
