They’re flashy and they’re fast — very fast — and will be competing this weekend in the Erie Poker Run.
More than 40 high-powered boats are on the schedule to participate this weekend in the 2nd annual Erie Poker Run.
The boats, many from around the country, will arrive in Erie this Friday afternoon and will be on display at Wolverine Park Marina, 34 State St.
The main event begins Saturday at 10:30 p.m.
Boaters will leave Erie and make four stops on their trip to New York and back, picking up a poker card at each stop.
When they arrive back in Erie, the person with the best poker hand is the winner.
The public is invited to take a look at these boats on Friday.
“So for the spectators who want to come down (Friday), they’ll see real flashy boats parked outside the Sheraton,” Emily Biddle, of the Erie Sports Commission, said. “These guys like to talk about their boats, like to show them off, so it’s a great way to interact with the boat owners.”
All events are free and open to the public.
