Boeing 737 Max flights canceled as far as one month out, awaiting safety updates

Local News

American Airlines says it plans to cancel flights well into April due to the grounding of the Boeing 737 Max jets.

The world’s largest airline said it’s canceling about 90 flights a day and it now plans to do that through April 24th. Prior to Sunday’s announcement, American only canceled flights through March 28th.

The global fleet of 737 Max jets was grounded indefinitely March 13th in the wake of two fatal crashes within six months.

The airline is hopeful the planes will be flying again soon, but it said it’s canceling flights about a month or so out as it waits for word on the planes from the Federal Aviation Administration.
