Calipo, convicted of arson, to appeal to state Superior Court

Local News

ERIE, Pa. — A woman convicted of arson is asking the state Superior Court for an appeal.

Julia Calipo was sentenced to spend one year and eight months to three years and four months in prison after being found guilty of arson in November.

Calipo’s attorney, Michael Harmon, has filed an appeal after Calipo was not able to take the stand to defend herself because of a medical emergency. An Erie County judge will be sending the case information to the state Superior Court in Pittsburgh.
