Every year, 100 young men and women between the ages of 13 and 15 from Erie, Crawford, Warren and Venango counties, learn what it’s like to train like a Pennsylvania state trooper at Camp Cadet.
Tonight was a fundraiser for the week long event held at Allegheny College in Meadville. Dozens of people gathered at Sparrow pond to raise money due to no police funds or government grants. The camp is completely funded through private donations.
Some camp cadet graduates have gone on to pursue careers in law enforcement. Registration for next year’s Camp Cadet will begin in early Spring.
