Candidates begin to gather signatures for 2019 elections

Local News

Political leaders of both parties are urging voters to concentrate on this year.

Yesterday was the first day to start collecting signatures to get on the 2019 ballot.  The municipal elections can have a big impact on voters as those officeholders pass local laws and set tax rates.

In Erie County this year, there are nine major seats open; four for County Council; three for City Council and two seats on the Erie County Court bench.

Supporters will have until March 12th to gather enough signatures to get their candidates on the spring primary ballots.
