US Senator Bob Casey is traveling to Erie tomorrow to meet with union workers about General Electric’s plans to move locomotive production out of Erie.
The closed-door meeting is expected to take place at the Union Hall in Lawrence Park, sometime before 10am. After that meeting, a news conference will be held.
Casey is expected to address what federal benefits could be available to the expected 575 displaced workers.
In a release, Casey said he is condemning the job losses and calling on the company to respect the work force that made GE Transportation successful.
