Local News

Chain saws and draft horses. That’s what you’ll see in Glenwood Park tomorrow.

The City of Erie and the Foundation for Sustainable Forests will jointly conduct a salvage of dead and dying trees in Glenwood Park along Parkside Ave. The effort is part of a long-term sustainable forest management initiative aimed at improving the overall health and resilience of Erie’s forested parks, and to keep you safe from hazardous trees.Tree cutters and draft horses will be in the park to cut and remove diseased trees, including ash trees which are dying from the invasive emerald ash boring beetle.
